Thank you Thomas for exposing this abuse of power. It's another example of the Roatan based police thinking they are above the law. I had heard there were as many as 60 at the shindig, but it doesn't matter. Having a public gathering was the wrong thing to do. The example are they setting for others is laughable. They should be held accountable for their behavior and definitely held to a higher standard than civilians. This mentality will eventually lead to the virus invading our island. So, who is going to police the police?

Dear Anonymous,
There will always be those that prefer safety of prison and will praise their jailors. Some of these are useful idiots, others are opportunists, and still others are agents of the system. Do know that your rudeness will not make your cell any more comfortable.

What a Bunch of sensationaliSm and scare mongering garbage. I'm thankful the central government put in strict restrictions to protect us. Roatan doesn't have the medical infrastructure to handle a pandemic as dangerous as COVID-19. With data coming out Almost Hourly about how infectious and dangerous this desease is, how asymptomatic people can have it and not Know, and how it overwhelms hospitals and medical staff, WE're lucky. There are no cases on the island. Yet. This can change at any time. Freight Boats are still Coming to the island and there are still interactions at the airport. We like to believe these areas ARE Properly quarantined, but it's Honduras, and Know the right person and you're free to go and come as you please. Also The president of Honduras is most likely inundated with calls from mayors and congressmen all over the country demanding they let them open. Can you imagine the outrage if he let some sectors open and ordered others closed? It would be CHAOS. The "draconian measures" are in place for the whole country, not just Roatan. Your article makes it sound like we're being singled out. Also you may want to double check your facts regarding Holland and Sweden.
